EWING, N.J. – The No. 36 TCNJ men's tennis team remained unbeaten in scintillating fashion on Saturday, winning the first four completed singles matches to overturn a deficit and tough out a 5-4 victory over NYU on Saturday inside the Rec Center.
The Lions trailed 2-1 after doubles but won on each of the top four singles courts, including
Matthew Michibata's comeback from a set and 2-0 down in the second to clinch it.

- NYU dropped to 1-3, while TCNJ upped its mark to 7-0
DOUBLES
- NYU jumped out to a 2-0 lead with 8-6 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles
- Alberto Thomas and Brett Schuster gave the Lions a fighting chance, holding off Cooper Smith and Zachary Freier, 8-6, at No. 3 to get the hosts on the board
SINGLES
- The comeback started in earnest as Aayush Kishore secured a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Louis Frowein at No. 3
- Adrian Tsui followed with a commanding 6-1, 6-3 defeat of Jingyuan Chen at No. 2 to give TCNJ the lead
- Thomas prevailed 6-3, 7-6 (3) over Rhumaish Khastgir at No. 4 to put the Lions on the brink
- Michibata clinched it with another big rally, spotting Boren Zheng a set and a break before storming back to claim a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 thriller at No. 1
- The Violets won at No. 5 and No. 6, though Schuster took Ryan Shayani to a third-set super breaker at No. 6
NOTES
- Michibata became the fifth player in program history to reach 70 career singles victories
- The Lions have taken down the Violets three years running, including 5-4 victories in back-to-back meetings
