Baseball Drops NJAC Matchup Against Scarlet Raptors

EWING, N.J.- The No. 21 ranked TCNJ baseball team suffered their fifth loss of the season on Sunday, splitting their two-game set with Rutgers-Camden after a 11-4 loss. The Lions (16-5, 4-2) hung tough throughout the first half of the game, but suffered from some costly errors, resulting in six unearned runs for the Scarlet Raptors (18-6, 5-1).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Rutgers-Camden got off to an early lead with four runs on five hits in the first inning, including a grand slam.
  • The Lions answered with three runs on two hits in the bottom half of the first.
  • After a scoreless second, a Jack Haynes double to right brought in Chris Reeder to things up at four apiece.
  • Over the next six, the Scarlet Raptors held the Lions scoreless and scored seven runs of their own on 11 hits and three errors in the field. TCNJ couldn't find an answer at the plate as Rutgers-Camden's bullpen held the Lions to just three hits over the last six.
