Late Goal Earns Men’s Soccer Tie at Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – The TCNJ men's soccer team rallied twice to earn its first point of the season after tying host Salisbury 2-2 at Salisbury's Elmer Lord Memorial Tournament on Saturday.

Joseph Lucignano's tying-goal came with two and a half minutes to go in the contest with an assist from Ernest Uche after his shot from the right side found the bottom of the left side of the net in just his second collegiate start. The play started with a corner kick and several head volleys in front of the Sea Gul net before it reached Lucignano, less than five minutes after Salisbury took a 2-1 lead.

Matias Hornos got the Lions on the board just 23 seconds after the Sea Gull's took a 1-0 lead with 10 minutes left in the first half. From just inside the right box, Hornos beat one defender and then outraced two others while moving left-to-right before delivering a well-placed ball to the lower far left of the net from about 10 yards out. The play developed from a throw-in from midfield.
