Women’s Soccer Puts Five Past Plattsburgh

GENEVA, N.Y. – Cassidy DiSabato's penalty kick goal proved to be the game winner early in the first half, while rookie goalkeeper Ellen Williams improved her record to 2-0 with a pair of saves as the No. 24 TCNJ women's soccer team won 5-1 over Plattsburgh State at William Smith's Stand on Their Shoulders Invitational on Saturday.
 
The Lions went to the break with a 2-1 lead and added three goals in the second half to stay unbeaten on the season.
 
Victoria D'Imperio started the scoring in the opening 10 minutes before the Cardinals closed the gap to 2-1 midway through the first half. Less than three minutes into the second half Ava Curtis made it a 3-1 score and the Lions capped the scoring on goals from Taylor Bielan and Taylor Krott.
 
TCNJ improved to 2-0, while Plattsburgh State fell to 0-2 on the season.

  • Lions outshot the Cardinals, 32-3, for the game, including a 17-3 edge in shots on target
  • Plattsburgh had three corners to the Lions' two
  • Hannah Meyers led Plattsburgh with two shots and a goal

  • Alyssa Alfano assisted on Krott's goal for her first point of the season
  • Caroline Mascone led all TCNJ reserves with 44 minutes played and tied for the team lead in shots with three targets and one on net
  • Krott's tally was her first collegiate goal
