Three Selected for NJAC Weekly Awards

9/30/2024 12:26:00 PM

PITMAN, N.J. – Three TCNJ student-athletes were recognized with NJAC weekly awards on Monday.

Victoria D'Imperio was named Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer, Colin Rentner was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week for men's soccer, and Avery Vacca was selected as the Rookie of the Week for field hockey.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
D'Imperio scored in both TCNJ wins last week, running her team-leading goal total to four. The senior broke a scoreless deadlock early in the second half of an eventual 4-0 victory over Susquehanna, then netted the tying goal late in the first half of Saturday's 2-1 NJAC win over Kean. D'Imperio is now 6th in program history with 41 career goals, and her 92 points are good for a tie for 9th all-time.

MEN'S SOCCER
Rentner stopped 12 of the 13 shots he faced in a 1-1 week for the Lions. The senior made six saves in a hard-fought 1-0 loss to DeSales before adding six more in Saturday's 1-0 NJAC win at Kean. It was the first career win and shutout for the senior keeper.

FIELD HOCKEY
Vacca scored the game's lone goal in Wednesday's 1-0 win at No. 16 Ursinus. The goal was the first of her career and gave the Lions their first ranked victory of the season.
