GALLOWAY, N.J. - The TCNJ men's soccer team saw its unbeaten streak to start the 2025 season come to an end in its road match against Stockton Wednesday night, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Ospreys.
Â
The Lions (5-1-4, 0-1-1 NJAC) were put to the test early in Wednesday's contest, as
Carson Dodd faced a pair of shots in the opening five minutes – the latter of which forced a save out of the freshman – before the game settled in the midfield. It wasn't until the 41st minute that TCNJ registered its first shot in the game, but consecutive attempts by
Pablo Argueta and
John Ramos were handled by Stockton to send the game into halftime scoreless.
Â
The start of the second half belonged to the Lions, who drew a corner just over five minutes in that created a scoring chance for
Lawrence Mancino, but the sophomore saw his header bounce wide of the goal. Eight minutes later it was
Chris Meder finding himself one-on-one with Stockton's (6-2-3, 1-0-1 NJAC) after a nice feed from
Matias Hornos, only for the junior's shot to be denied by the post.
Â
Momentum changed hands in the 66th minute in which TCNJ denied the Ospreys of a trio of chances before the hosts finally broke the scoreless tie off a free kick at the 74:35 mark. Two more goals in quick succession – all three of Stockton's scores came in a six-minute span – pushed the Lions' deficit to three, with TCNJ able to get off just one more shot in the final 10 minutes before the final whistle sealed the 3-0 loss.
