EWING, N.J. – Nina Branchizio,
Katie Fricker, and
Arianna McCleod of TCNJ women's basketball were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, announced Tuesday afternoon by the organization.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 15 (men) and April 16 (women).
A speech pathology and audiology major, Branchizio is now a three-time Academic All-District honoree. She wrapped up her stellar career with a historic season, shooting her way to NJAC Player of the Year honors while breaking program records for 3-pointers in a season (86) and career (274).
A first team all-region selection by D3hoops.com and a first team All-NJAC performer, Branchizio ended the season 5
th in all of Division III in 3-pointers made and sixth in triples per game (3.19). She finished her career with 1,137 points, good for 13
th all-time, and also leaves TCNJ 14
th in career steals (128) and assists (238).
Fricker broke into the all-conference ranks with honorable mention recognition after averaging 10.3 points and a team-leading 6.1 rebounds per game while starting all 27 contests. She topped the team in free-throw percentage (.869) and ranked fourth in both assists (48) and steals (31).
McCleod, a co-captain alongside Branchizio, was third on the team in both scoring (10.5 PPG) and rebounding (5.1 RPG), starting all 27 games of her senior campaign. She made 44 3-pointers and matched Branchizio with 38 steals, good for second on the squad.
