Ithaca Edges Women's Tennis in Thriller

EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's tennis team came up a point or two short in a 4-3 loss to Ithaca on Saturday in a thrilling match that came down to a super tiebreaker on the last remaining court.
 
The Lions (3-4) swept doubles, but the Bombers came up with victories in four of the six singles courts to steal a hard-fought non-conference triumph.
 
DOUBLES SINGLES
  • Ithaca won the first three contested singles matches, taking a 3-1 lead when Crain outlasted Albert 6-0, 5-7, 1-0 (10-7) on the No. 1 court
  • Robinson got the Lions back in it with a 6-0, 7-5 victory over Rodriguez at No. 4
  • Gabrielle Brideau dominated Casell 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6
  • That left it all to the number 5 flight, where Sutro pulled out a 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) marathon against Ring
NOTES
  • Abalos moved into a tie for 11th in program history with her 70th career doubles victory
