Men's Tennis Bested by #35 Stevens

EWING, N.J. - The TCNJ men's tennis team hosted 35th-ranked Stevens in its penultimate regular season match Tuesday afternoon, battling to the final point in a 4-3 loss to the Ducks.
 
DOUBLES
  • Stevens (9-7) secured the first team point of the day with wins at courts one (6-4) and two (6-0) to take the early lead.
  • The Lions (8-6) avoided the doubles sweep thanks to a 7-5 win in the third flight from Sidd Arudi and Nathan Chan.
SINGLES
  • After the Ducks took the first two matches at second and third singles, Harrison Maitland-Carter put in a strong showing against Stevens' Max-William Kanz. Facing off against the 19th-ranked player in the region, the junior took the first set, but dropped the next two in a 7-5, 2-6, 5-7 defeat that secured the team win for the Ducks.
  • Not deterred by the team loss, Chan won for the second time on the day at No. 5 with a dominant third set to best Dhaivik Chenemilla 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 before Aidan Twamley was victorious at court five with a 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-1) win.
  • TCNJ won its third straight match at the sixth singles flight, where Olufela Fieulleteau split the first two sets with Mihir Parcha before bouncing back with a 7-6, tiebreak victory for the Lions' third and final point of the afternoon.

  • The Lions are back in action Friday, April 25 for their regular-season finale against Baruch.
