EWING, N.J. - The TCNJ men's soccer team returned to Lions Stadium to take on Arcadia Wednesday night, battling a weather delay before playing the Knights to a 0-0 draw in front of the home crowd.
Â
Despite the Lions (4-0-2) controlling the opening 20 minutes of Wednesday's match, it was Arcadia (3-1-3) creating the first real chance in the 22nd minute. Scott Jordan found himself one-on-one with TCNJ's
Carson Dodd after beating a Lions defender in the box, but the freshman used a strong left hand to parry the shot away.
Â
Neither side threatened again until there were just under five minutes left in the half, but
Pablo Argueta saw his shot from distance collected by the Knights' Logan Gildea to keep the game scoreless at the half.
Â
Arcadia upped their pressure in the second half, firing off nine shots in the final 45 minutes, but Dodd was forced to make just one save in the freshman's third straight shutout to start his career. The best chance of the second half actually came from TCNJ when
Chris Meder found a cutting Argueta, but the junior was once again denied by a sprawling Gildea to maintain his own shutout.
Â
The Knights took three shots in the final five minutes in search of a game-winner, but none threatened Dodd en route to the 0-0 tie.
