Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Conner Gilson

Men's Soccer Keeps Unbeaten Streak Alive With 1-1 Draw at New Paltz

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -The TCNJ men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to an unprecedented 14 games to start the 2026 season, playing New Paltz to a 1-1 draw on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (6-0-8, 2-0-4 NJAC) struck first in the tightly-contested NJAC matchup, taking just over seven minutes to score the game's opening goal off the foot of Matias Hornos. It was Chris Meder starting the attack after intercepting a pass between the Hawks' (8-4-2, 2-2-1 NJAC) backline, with the senior finding his classmate inside the 18 for the one-time finish to secure his first goal since returning from injury earlier this month and put TCNJ up 1-0.

It looked as though the Lions would take their one-goal lead into halftime, but a world-class goal by New Paltz's Samuel Snider leveled things at one just before the break.

Both sides generated chances in the second half in search of a winner, but neither could get a second past Sean Najdzinowicz or Austin Sheehan, with the final whistle ending proceedings in a 1-1 draw.
