MAHWAH, N.J. - The No. 7 TCNJ women's soccer team kicked off its two-game road trip to end the regular season with a match against Ramapo Saturday afternoon, jumping in front early and never looking back in a 5-0 shutout win over the Roadrunners.
Â
As has been the case for much of the 2026 campaign, the Lions (12-1-2, 7-1 NJAC) took less than five minutes to score the game's opening goal courtesy of
Jenny Ward. The junior wasted no time putting TCNJ in front, scoring her team- and NJAC-best 12th goal of the season just 3:24 into the match when she sent her first shot of the day into the back of the net on a cross from
Alyssa Alfano.
Â
The senior added herself to the scoring column three minutes later, converting from the penalty spot to double the Lions' lead before Ramapo (3-5-5, 0-4-3 NJAC) could register its first shot of the afternoon.
Â
TCNJ's advantage would stay at two over the remainder of the first half before the Lions added three more in the second to put the game out of reach.
Â
First to strike was
Lexi Caruso, who turned a
Caroline Freer free kick into her third goal of the season to put TCNJ up 3-0 in the 67th minute. The game's final two goals were scored by
Isabella Vilic – the first two of her career – with the sophomore beating the Roadrunners' defense to a pair of loose balls to bag her first collegiate brace and extend the Lions' lead to five before the final whistle sounded.
