Men's Tennis Races Past Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The TCNJ men's tennis team extended its winning streak to seven matches by downing Moravian, 6-1, on the road on Sunday.
 
Harrison Maitland-Carter and Asa Wong dropped the first game of their number one doubles match, but rebounded in a big way to reel off six straight games in a 6-1 rout.
 
Nathan Chan and Alberto Thomas had only slightly more work to do at number two, surging to a 6-2 victory to seize the doubles point.
 
Sidd Arudi and Faris Shehata had the closest doubles match of the day, but managed to break free from a 3-all deadlock to secure a 6-3 triumph.
 
Brett Schuster was first off the singles courts with a 6-1, 6-1 rout of Ryan Burke at number six.
 
Maitland-Carter was right behind him with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Cristiano Jabra at number two, and Thomas sealed the dual by cruising past Shayaan Farhad 6-0, 6-2 on the top court.
 
Shehata logged a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Roman Farhad at number four, and Aidan Twamley won the last three games on the bounce to clinch a 6-1, 6-4 win against Joey Kelly at number five.
 
The Greyhounds broke up the Lions' bid for a sweep by taking number three singles, the last match on court.
 
NOTES
  • Thomas moved out of a three-way tie and into 5th on the program's all-time charts all by himself with his 64th career doubles win
  • Thomas, who is one singles win short of 50 for his career, also pulled into a tie with Phil Stevinson (1994-98) for 12th all-time with 113 combined wins
  • Maitland-Carter elevated above a three-way tie for 10th on the all-time singles wins list, joining the top-10 with the 57th singles victory of his career
  • Wong is one doubles win shy of 50 for his career
