EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ baseball team suffered a tough loss against William Paterson on Thursday, dropping a 16-6 decision at home versus the Pioneers.
The Pioneers (15-19) scored the first six runs of the contest, logging a two-run homer in the third and four runs on three hits in the fourth. The Lions (15-21) got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning, where
Jack O'Donnell led off with a single and
Michael Contiliano drove him in with his second career triple. TCNJ's second run of the game came in that frame as well, as
Antonio Destribats' sacrifice fly in that inning scored
Jake Carter who reached on a walk.
Unfortunately for TCNJ, William Paterson continued their scoring ways after that point; the Pioneers at least two runs in each inning after the second frame except the eighth.
Braden Dromboski batted in two more runs for TCNJ, thanks to an RBI single in the sixth and an RBI double in the eighth.
Tyler Provost, who led the way offensively with three hits, also added a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth. In the end, however, the game finished as a ten-run victory for the visitors.
