PITMAN, N.J. – Marissa Lucca added one final honor to her historic senior season on Sunday, when the TCNJ women's lacrosse star was honored as the NJAC Female Athlete of the Year at the conference's annual awards brunch.
Lucca, who was also named a first-team All-American by USA Lacrosse, put together one of the most impressive seasons in program history. The NJAC Attack Player of the Year piled up 140 points to match Jenny LaRocca's single-season record set in 2022, dishing out 56 assists and netting 84 goals to finish two off the program benchmark. In the process, Lucca ranked 3
rd in all of Division III in points, 6
th in goals and points per game (6.67), 11
th in assists, and 15
th in goals per game (4.00).
Lucca was all but unstoppable in 2026, producing at least five points in 16 of the Lions' 21 games. She had five outings with double-digit points, headlined by a 14-point outburst (5G/9A) against Neumann to break the single-game school record; she also registered at least nine points in every NJAC regular-season game, which included a seven-goal, three-assist effort as TCNJ clinched the league's regular-season title with a 14-7 win at Rowan on April 25. She was a 3-time NJAC Offensive Player of the Week and 2-time national Player of the Week (1 IWLCA, 1 USA Lacrosse) this spring.
Lucca brought her best to the postseason as well, finishing with five goals and two assists in the NCAA second-round win over Messiah and powering the Lions to an upset of 7
th-ranked Amherst with four goals and four assists in the third round. She scored two goals in the quarterfinal loss to No. 1 Middlebury, officially matching the single-season points record.
A three-time All-Region performer, two-time USA Lacrosse All-American, and two-time All-NJAC honoree, Lucca leaves TCNJ ranked 3
rd in assists (123), 4
th in points (333), and 6
th in goals (210), all of which she accomplished in just three seasons after missing her freshman year due to injury. She was also a four-time NJAC Offensive Player of the Week and five-time NJAC Rookie of the Week for her career.
A nursing major, Lucca graduated with a 3.62 GPA and was recognized as a CSC Academic All-District selection, an IWLCA Academic Honor Roll member, and a three-time NJAC All-Academic Team honoree.
The TCNJ women's lacrosse program has produced back-to-back Female Athlete of the Year recipients, with Lucca following in the footsteps of 2025 winner
