The College of New Jersey Athletics

As a junior, Dan Anderson went 4-0 for the Lions, while recording impressive wins over Wheaton College (MA), Suffolk University, Moravian College and Stevens. Against Stevens, he fanned seven and his fourth win of the spring. A seven-game starter in 2008, Anderson worked in 37.1 innings, while fanning 25 batters. He held the opposition to a .237 average at the plate and gave up just six extra-base hits in all of 2008.

A finance major at TCNJ, he was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team for his excellence on the field and in the classroom. He boasts a 7-0 record on the mound for the Lions during his career and has held the opposition to a .237 average. He has now started 13 of 17 games on his career with 45 strikeouts in 72.2 innings of work. He has earned a spot on TCNJ’s Dean’s List every semester and is a member of the International Business Honor Society, and is an inaugural member of TCNJ’s Business Scholars Program and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He is working to establish TCNJ’s Chamber of Commerce. He will be honored in the spring of 2009 as TCNJ’s Dr. Harold W. Eickhoff Senior Male Scholar-Athlete as the senior student-athlete with the highest GPA.
TCNJ’s coaching staff will rely more heavily upon Anderson this season after a strong showing last year.

A graduate of Middletown South High, Anderson earned varsity letters in baseball after earning team MVP honors after serving as a captain. He is the son of Daniel and Faye Anderson. His father was inducted into Tiffin University’s Athletic Hall of Fame for his excellence in basketball and still holds a single-season record for best free throw percentage in a season (91.5%., 1977-78).
