In his first season with the Lions, Adam Tussey made an immediate impact on the team. By year’s end, he had started all 42 games at second base and racked up numerous post-season awards. He earned a spot on the 2008 NJAC, NJCBA, and NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Second Teams. He hit successfully in all but eight games in 2008 and was tapped as the Lions’ Rookie of the Year for his play.

He finished the season with a .400 batting average to lead the Lions in 2008, while adding a team-high 72 hits with 30 RBIs. He drew 27 walks and finished the year with a .486 on-base percentage after adding 67 singles on the campaign, which ranks first for a Lion in a single-season. He broke the old mark set in 1991 by Dave Lebak, which had stood at 62. His .400 average ranks 15th for a single-season performance at TCNJ, while his 180 at-bats ranks 16th

His 72 hits on the season ranks sixth all-time for a season effort, while his 42 runs scored a year ago ranks 18th for a single-season performance. He finished the season having averaged 22.5 in at-bats to strikeouts average, which is 10th best in a season at TCNJ.
He is the son of Adam and Kelly and came to TCNJ after attending Rider University. While at Rider, he started 84 of 88 games played, while batting .231 with 70 hits with 34 RBIs over the course of the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Adam is majoring in marketing at TCNJ and has a ,294 career batting average with 142 hits and 89 runs scored.
