Biography

2019-20 (SENIOR): NWCA First-Team All-American… placed second at the NCAA Mideast Regional to qualify for the NCAA Championships… was ranked in five of nine individual NWCA polls… won 21 straight matches to begin the season, finishing with a 21-1 overall record… placed first at the Will Abele Tournament… earned bonus points in 18 of his 21 victories on the season

2018-19 (JUNIOR): Wrestled to fourth place finish at NCAA Regional… 15-4 overall record with four wins by pin… went a perfect 8-0 in dual matches… won three matches at the Ned McGinley Tournament, including a win over 8th-ranked Dylan Nuttall, on his way to a second place finish.

2017-18… Ortega was a fierce competitor at the 125 spot his sophomore season, as he wrestled to a record of 11-1…Went 3-1 in the Budd Whitehill Duals to help the Lions finish in second place… Rattled off five straight wins in duals to conclude the season… Career record stands at 17-3.

2016-17: Had 4-1 dual meet record and six wins overall with three coming via pin fall… Won two matches at the NWCA Duals… Won his first collegiate match against Stevens Institute of Technology
