Biography

2018: McCarthy provided an excellent junior season as the Lions first basemen… Was named New Jersey Athletic Conference Bill Dioguardi Player of the Year for his efforts… Started in all 40 of the Lions games, and hit .316 with 30 RBIs and posted an OBP of .410… Raised his numbers in conference play, as he hit .417 against NJAC opponents… Went 6-11 with five RBIS in the doubleheader sweep over Ramapo College… Notched his first career home run in the NJAC tournament against Ramapo… Played a sure handed first base as he only made three errors in 357 chances to post a fielding percentage of .992.

2017: Became a constant in the Lions starting lineup at first base his sophomore season, as he started in 36 games and made 42 appearances… hit .276 with 23 RBIs, five doubles, and 18 runs scored… third place on the team in RBIs and OBP (.384)… played an extremely efficient first base, as he only made on error out of 297 chances for a fielding percentage of .997…went 3-4 with three RBIs and was just a home run short of the cycle in the Lions victory over William Paterson... McCarthy also delivered the clutch hit that day as he ripped a two RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Lions the lead… Helped the Lions comeback in the NJAC Championship against Ramapo, as he knocked in a run in the fifth to cut the deficit to three, and scored another in the seventh to cut the deficit to two.

2016:
Made 4 starts for the Lions, appearing in 8 games.  In his collegiate debut against Fitchburg St. McCarthy collected his first career hit and RBI. In a game vs. Immaculata, McCarthy went 1-4 knocking in a RBI and scored a pair for runs as the Lions went on to win 14-8.
