Ewing, NJ…Former collegiate wrestler, Glen Sandull (Kenilworth, NJ, formerly of Howell, NJ) will join the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III Hall of Fame on March 2. Sandull, an All-American wrestler at The College of New Jersey, will join the class of 2006 in conjunction with the 2006 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship on the campus of his alma mater, March 3-4. The 2006 NCWA Division III Hall of Fame class includes wrestlers, Sandull, Jamal Fox of Wartburg College (IA), Mike Helm of Messiah College (PA) as well as coaches Kevin Pueblo of Augustana College (IL), Rusty Carlson of Rhode Island College.
A two-time NCAA Division III Champion at heavy weight for the Lions in both 1993 and 1994. Sandull was also a two-time Metropolitan Conference champion at HWT as well as a two-year team captain for the Lions.
As a junior in 1993, Glen went 36-2 and became the College’s first champion at heavyweight after competing the previous two seasons at 190 pounds. That season, the team finished in fifth place at the NCAA’s. Sandull, seeded fourth entering the 1993 NCAA’s went 4-0 with four decisions to collect the title with a 3-2 decision over Simpson’s Don Finch in the finals. Over the course of the season, he was twice selected as the NJAC wrestler of the Week, in helping the Lions collect the NJAC Championships as well as the Metropolitan Conference title as well. He was also honored by the Newark Star Ledger as its male athlete of the week. Among the titles he won on the year were a first place showing at the York College Invitational after racking up three straight pins and did not go into the third period in the tournament in any match. He was the 1993 Millersville Belles Tournament champion and a place finisher at the East Stroudsburg Open. He had 10 pins on the season with eight majors and one tech fall.
He successfully defended his 1993 title with a 5-3 overtime decision over Olivet’s E. Thomas and helped the Lions finish in third place in the team standings at the 1994 NCAA’s. As a senior he recorded six pins with two major decisions. Over the course of his senior season, he won titles at the Central Jersey Open, York Spartan Invitational, Millersville University Belles Tournament, and the Met Conference Championships. He was a runner-up at the East Stroudsburg Open.

Scholastically, he was a three-sport athlete, starring in football, baseball and wrestling, where he finished fourth in the state of NJ. A region champion as well as a district champion, he was recently inducted into Howell High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame for his accomplishments.
Sandull currently resides in Kenilworth, New Jersey where he is employed as a police officer.
