Lions Stadium is a premiere venue for The College of New Jersey athletic programs that is located right in the middle of campus. The stadium is home to Lions football, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse. Since it was was built in 1984, Lions Stadium has hosted NCAA regional and national championship events in soccer, field hockey, lacrosse and football. Lions Stadium also hosts numerous special events each year, including the main commencement ceremony at TCNJ and New Jersey Special Olympics. In the summer of 2014, Lions Stadium served as host to the National Special Olympics.
Lions Stadium can accommodate more than 6,000 spectators and features Trophy Turf as its playing surface. The venue, which also serves the general campus community as a center for intramural activity, features lights, a two-level press box, grandstand, concession stand and restroom facilities. The press box, which occupies the lower level of the two-level facility, includes a working pressroom of some 600-square feet, in addition to a television booth and officials’ booth. The second level includes a 450-square foot camera deck, TCNJ spotter booth and president's box. The entire facility is heated and includes private restrooms on each level.
