Ted Appleton is returning for a second season with the Lions after joining the staff last year. He came to TCNJ from The Canterbury School, a prep school in New Milford, Connecticut, where he served as a teacher and a coach. He possesses a vast array of experience which is an asset to TCNJ's baseball program.

He competed at the Division I Level, while attempting to walk on to Columbia' University's baseball team during three times (2002, 2003, and 2004).

In 2006, he served as an assistant varsity coach at the prestigious Collegiate School in New York City. He helped lead the Dutchmen to the NYSAIS Tournament. Last season, he served as an assistant coach at The Canterbury School, while also teaching U.S. history and modern European history. He helped lead the Saints to their first winning season in twelve years. Several of his former players now play collegiate baseball at Sacred Heart University, Pomona-Pitzer College, Oberlin College, and Harvard University.

Appleton will serve as the recruiting coordinator and the Lions' first base coach. He will also work with the infielders, outfielders, and pitchers when needed. He currently resides in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
