Biography

2018: D3Baseball.com Preseason All-American

2017: Enjoyed one of the greatest seasons as a pitcher in program history… In 10 starts he tallied a 5-1 record with an impressive 1.48 ERA, and struck out a remarkable 73 batters. Five complete games including two shutouts, and held opponents to a .209 batting average against… Received several accolades for his incredible season, including American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-American, Mid Atlantic ACBA Rawlings Regional Pitcher of the Year, Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team, D3Baseball.com Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team, NJAC Pitcher of the Year, and All-NJAC First Team… Became the first All-American for the Lions along with teammate Matt Curry since 2009…His junior season propelled him up the program’s all-time leaderboard, as he is among the program leaders in wins (19), strikeouts (146), innings pitched (208.1), ERA (2.55), complete games (6), and shutouts (2)… The Lions were 9-1 in games Cirillo started, and he never went any less than seven innings in those starts… Struck out ten batters in three games, and also tallied two games with nine punchouts… Threw eight strong innings in the NCAA opener against Tufts University, as he only allowed two earned runs while striking out nine to help the Lions get the victory.

2016: Continuing off a strong freshman season, Cirillo posted an 8-2 record with an era of 3.21 era.  In a game against Babson College, Cirillo tossed a complete game striking out 8 and scattering 6 hits.  A Saturday starter Cirillo made 6 conference starts including a 9 inning gem against Montclair which the Lions went on to win the extra innings.  Knocking off Rowan in the NJAC tournament, Cirillo struck out 3 in 8 innings on the way to a 4-3 Lions victory. In the NCAA regional tournament, Cirillo defeated St. Joseph’s Long Island throwing 6 scoreless innings and registering the 15-5 victory. Cirillo was awarded for his performance and was named to All-Region 2nd Team.

2015: Had a record of 6-1 on the season, with a 3.42 earned run average... In his first collegiate start, pitched eight shutout innings in win over Centenary College... Pitched six innings, giving up three hits and striking out six in a 4-1 win over Rutgers-Camden... Named New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association Rookie Pitcher of the Year... Earned a spot on the NJCBA All-State Third Team.
