Steve Czajka is coming off a season that saw him start 36 of 38 games played, while batting .328. He earned All-State honors at third base as a junior and is a leading candidate to move over to shortstop  to fill the void left by the graduation of Nick Stine.

He lead the team last year having been hit by a pitch 10 times and helped the team lead the nation in double plays turned as he was part of 15 of them. He added 25 RBI’s last year with a team-best 41 runs scored. A consistent performer, he enters the year with a .328 career batting average in 93 games played for the Lions.

As a sophomore in 2002, he earned the role as the Lions’ everyday starter at third base and adapted to his new found role quite well after starting just one game as a rookie in 2001. A 2002 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional All-tournament team pick at 3B, he batted .331 with 21 RBI’s and 43 hits. Defensively, he settled down and posted a .914 fielding average with 12 errors on the corner. He tallied a .415 slugging percentage on the 2002 season, having also scored 23 runs with five sacrifices on the year.

A general business major at TCNJ, he was a two-sport athlete at Cherry Hill West, playing both baseball and soccer there and serving as a team captain for both as well.
