2014: Volpe had a terrific 2014 sophomore season to follow up his strong 2013 freshman campaign.  He recorded a 4-1 record over 48 innings pitched with a 3.00 earned run average. Volpe showed his best stuff in conference play posting a 1.61 ERA in 28 innings. His finest outing was against New Jersey City University where he limited the Gothic Knights to just two hits in eight innings of shutout baseball. Volpe fanned a season-high six batters in a no-decision at Muhlenberg. He surrendered just one earned run in his lone loss of the season against William Paterson. Volpe also put forth an outstanding effort in a no-decision against Rowan, tossing eight innings and limiting the Profs to just four hits and one earned run.

2013: Appeared in eight games, starting five during his rookie season. … Was selected to the 2013 NJCBA Division II/III All-Rookie Team. … Earned NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors on three occasions. … Finished with a 3-1 overall record. … Led the Lions’ staff with a 1.87 earned run average. … Opponents batted a collective .192 when there were runners on base. … Tied a program record by tossing 23 consecutive shutout innings. … Walked just three batters in his first 23 innings pitched while striking out 12. … Recorded a 3-0, complete-game shutout in his first collegiate start against Worcester State. … Also posted victories over Muhlenberg and NJCU.
