Entering his final season, Rich Adams shared time in net last year and finished the 2003 campaign with a 1.65 goals against average. As a team, the Lion keepers had a combined 1.59 goals against average and five shutouts. In 2002, Adams had a breakout season as the talented keeper earned NJAC honorable mention status for his efforts. A solid goaltender, Adams will be vying for the starting role once again after sharing time in net last two seasons.
As a sophomore, Adams started nine of 12 games in goal and produced a 7-3-1 record, while sporting a team-best 0.79 GAA. His GAA ranked third in the NJAC in 2002, while also having had seven shutouts, which was second best among NJAC goalies. He finished the season with a selection as the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week near the end of the regular season.
In 2001 as a rookie, Adams appeared in four games with one start and was 0-1 in net for the Lions. He brings a 1.21 career goals against average into the 2004 campaign having also gone 7-9-3 in net for the Lions the past three years. He is a business major at TCNJ.
