Monica Waniek

In her third season with the Lions, Monika Waniek brings with her a wealth of experience as a coach. A 1991 graduate of Oklahoma State University, Waniek was a two-team captain at OSU and earned NCAA All-America honors in both singles and doubles for three years (1988-90), while also capturing the 1989 US Amateur Clay Court National Championship.

The former Polish Junior National Champion (1982-1985), Waniek also won the Polish Women’s National Championship in 1985, just one year prior to joining the Polish Federation Cup Team in 1986.
A Big Eight academic honoree, she is a former Dean’s List honoree and a two-time recipient of the student-athlete scholar athlete award at OSU in 1990 and 1991.

From 1993 to 2004, she served as the head tennis professional at the Jacksonville (FL) Golf and Country Club and has since become the tennis professional at the nearby Pennington Ewing Athletic Club.

In addition, to her tennis endeavors, Waniek works as a real estate agent for the Jesse Real Estate Agency in Ocean City, NJ.
