Since graduating high school, Roger Mosteller spent four years as a member of the U.S. Marine Corp, where he received the rank of Sergeant after only three years of service. He participated in a peacekeeping operation in Kosovo during 9/11 and received the Kosovo Campaign Medal.

As a newcomer to TCNJ in 2005-2006, the big-hitting Mosteller played a No. 3 singles for the spring season and amassed an 8-2 dual match record and a 9-5 record overall in singles play. At doubles, Mosteller teamed with Mike Klimchak to garner a 15-3 doubles record and go undefeated at No. 2 doubles in dual match play at 9-0.

As a junior with the Lions, Mosteller continued his hard hitting style of play and helped the Lions attain an NCAA bid as a team and in doubles as well. The pair of Mosteller and Klimchak extended their dual meet with streak to 20-0 before falling in doubles play to a No. 1 pair from Johns Hopkins University in late April of 2007. In May, Mosteller and Klimchak earned a bid to the 2007 NCAA Division III Doubles Championship before dropping from the draw in the first round to the No. 2 seeded pair. Overall, the duo would produce an 18-5 record together with a 12-2 dual meet record.

Playing at No. 2 singles in 2006-2007, Mosteller went 16-3 with an 11-1 dual meet record, elevating his TCNJ career singles record to 20-6. He adds a 33-8 mark in doubles play as well as he returns for his senior season.
