Jean Ruppert

Jean Ruppert came to TCNJ after 15 seasons as one of Mercer (NJ) County’s most successful scholastic coaches at Steinert High School.  Ruppert mentored Steinert’s softball program to Colonial Valley Conference (CVC) and Mercer County Tournament titles in 2001 and 2002.

The Times’ 2001 and 2002 CVC Coach of the Year, she won approximately 300 games during her long tenure at her alma mater, Steinert.  Ruppert led the Spartans to 10 CVC Championships and three Mercer County Championships as well as state tournament appearances in 13 of 15 campaigns.  She coached two Division III All-Americans in Lisa Gentilella (Salisbury ’02) and Alicia Sanchez (TCNJ ’97).

Along with assisting the Lions’ softball team, Ruppert is a teacher in the Hamilton Township School District at Steinert and has been in the profession for 19 years.
