TCNJ head women’s basketball coach Chessie Jackson announced the hiring of Karalyne Brown as assistant coach on Jan. 21, 2021.
"I am excited that Karalyne has joined our Lion family this season,” Jackson said. “She is already making a big impact on the program on and off the court. Her passion for the game was clear from day one, and she is a hard-working, energetic addition to our team. I am looking forward to working with her to help our program reach new heights!"
Prior to joining the Lions, Brown coached the high school aged Franklin Basketball Club Defenders in Somerset, N.J. from March 2017 to August 2020. During her time there, Brown programmed both group and individual drills which increased player productivity. She also co-created practice plans and directed position-specific drills.
“I’m looking forward to working with Coach Jackson and learning from her along with the team,” Brown said. “Coaching at the college level has been a dream of mine for some time now. I’m very excited to be here!”
Brown graduated from William Paterson University in 2016 with a bachelor of science in applied health. During her time at William Paterson, Brown was a member of the women’s basketball team in the 2013-14 season. Academically, Brown earned dean’s list honors in the spring semesters of 2015 and 2016.
