Wendy Collins returns to the sidelines for a 13th season with TCNJ’s women's basketball program. Collins brings a wealth of experience both as a player and a coach to the Lions. A four-year letter winner at nearby Princeton University, she was voted Most Improved Player in 1988 and earned the Most Valuable Player award the following year as a junior. Named the Tigers’ team co-captain as a senior, Collins graduated from Princeton with magna cum laude honors.
A four-year letter winner in both basketball and softball at Owego Free Academy, she finished her scholastic career with 15 records, including the all-time basketball scoring mark.
Collins came to TCNJ after a five-year stint at nearby Princeton Day School, where she served as the varsity softball coach for five seasons as well as the assistant varsity and head junior varsity basketball coach. During her tenure at Princeton Day School, Collins led the softball team to the school’s first two state championships in that sport, while the basketball program earned a state championship in 1995.
Prior to coming to TCNJ, she spent two summers as the team coordinator and assistant to the program director of the Bucks County Wildcats AAU team. Collins also served as the head coach of the under-16 girls’ basketball team.
In addition to her coaching responsibilities, she works as the director of multimedia development at Films Media Group, an educational publisher in Princeton, New Jersey. Collins produces videos, CD-ROMS, and Web sites on life skills, career exploration, and academic study skills for children. She is responsible for the development and production of TCNJ’s Hoop Scoop newsletter and the Little Lions’ Club.
