Returning again this season as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s tennis teams is Martin Kamara, a 1997 graduate of Denison University. Born in Sierra Leone, West Africa, he had the luxury of living and attending school in Tanzania East and London, England. Thirteen years ago Kamara moved to Wisconsin and later attended Denison University, where he played tennis for four seasons. A team captain as a junior and senior, Denison was nationally ranked all four years during his career. He helped his team capture the conference championship twice, while taking the runner-up crown on two other occasions. A Student-Athlete representative at Denison, Kamara helped the Big Red earn a national top ten ranking as a senior.

Since graduating from Denison, he has continued to be active as both a coach and a player of the game. A former assistant women’s tennis coach for his alma mater, Kamara has spent the past six years as a certified teaching professional and the director of the junior program "For Winning Touch" at the Forrestal Village, while continuing to play in several tournaments. Most recently, he was a quarterfinalist in the Mercer County Men’s “A” Singles championships and a finalist in the doubles draw in the summer of 2002, while also winning the Mercer County Mixed Doubles Championship. He has won the Archi Chiles Doubles Championships in mixed doubles the past three years.
