Dave Caracciolo

  • Title
    Volunteer Assistant
Dave “Crotch” Caracciolo has been a volunteer assistant coach for the TCNJ wrestling team previously but was recently relocated to the NJ State Police Headquarters in West Trenton. In years past he has helped the Lions win multiple championships at the Budd Whitehill Duals. During the 2021-22 campaign, Carocciolo will take a more active roll in practice, travel, and as a mentor to the Lions' student-athletes.

A native of Ocean City, New Jersey, Carocciolo wrestled collegiately at West Virginia University, where his daughter Sara will graduate with a nursing degree in the fall of 2022. He has been a coach for 20 years, a majority at Ocean City High School.

Coach Galante was recently asked about Carrociolo's new role with the team and said, “Crotch has always been someone I looked up to. A role model, mentor, and coach I try to emulate. He is a leader with passion and wisdom. He dissects the mental and social aspects of situations and then shapes his message to help others feel more comfortable and improve. We are lucky to have such a capable and positive person on staff!”

Carocciolo has a 21-year-old son, David, with special needs who attends Ocean City High School and wrestled for the Red Raiders. His wife, Nicole, works in the local school district and has also been a lifelong family friend.
