Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey men's soccer team hosted Richard Stockton College on Wednesday night in Lions' Stadium. The Ospreys tallied a 2-1 win to extend their win streak to eight games in the process. With the win, the Ospreys are now 11-3-1 overall and 5-1 in the NJAC, while TCNJ drops to 6-7-2 overall and 2-4 in the league.
RSC's midfielder Sean Nelson (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) tallied the first score on a break-away feed from junior Pat Tolomeo (Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) at 4:22 and helped his team to a 1-0 halftime lead.
TCNJ's junior Kevin Luber (Delran, NJ/Delran) picked up his seventh goal of the season after a scramble in front of the goal mid-way through the second half to tie the action. Assisting Luber on the goal was junior midfielder Anthony Staropoli (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) at 70:04. With the goal, Luber tallied his 50th career point as he now has 18 goals with 14 assists.
Minutes later, sophomore Rafael Duarte (Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) converted the feed from Nelson to break the 1-1 tie after he added his ninth goal and fourth game-winning score at 77:10.
TCNJ's sophomore goalie Eric Goldwaser (Wyckoff, NJ/Indian Hills) made two saves for the Lions, while RSC's junior goalie Matt Hart (Dayton, NJ/South Brunswick) made five saves in the match-up and is now 8-1-1 in net for the Ospreys.
