Syvertsen and Frank help Lions to another home win

Ewing, NJ –The College of New Jersey men's basketball team hosted Arcadia University on Wednesday night in Packer Hall in a non-conference game. The Lions came away with a 68-50 win to improve to 4-2 overall, while Arcadia drops to 3-4. The Lions held the Knights to just 50 points, a season low for Arcadia. With Wednesday's win, the Lions tallied their third victory in Packer Hall this season in as many outings.

TCNJ led 33-20 at the break after pouring in 50.0% of their shots from the floor (14-28), while holding the Knights to just 33.3% shooting on an 8-24 effort and forcing 16 turnovers. TCNJ's junior guard Jay Frank (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) and junior Aaron Syvertsen (Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) paced the Lions with six first half points, while Frank had five rebounds, and three steals.

Leading the way at the break for Arcadia was senior guard Blaise Pepitone (Vineland, NJ/Sacred Heart) as he had six points at the break.

By game's end, Syvertsen had a game-high 15 points and Frank chipped in 13 for the Lions. Frank added seven rebounds, three assists and five steals to pace the team to the win. Sophomore forward Steven Siracusa (Middletown, NJ/Middletown North) added a personal-best eight rebounds for the Lions.

Pepitone finished the night as the only Knight in double digits as he added 10 points.

TCNJ returns to action on December 6 travelling to Montclair State University for the 2008-2009 NJAC opener in a 3 p.m. start in Panzer Gymnasium, while Arcadia host Delaware Valley College that same day in a 1 p.m. match-up.
