Mahwah, NJ…The College of New Jersey softball team picked up its 20th win of the season as the Lions gained a split a doubleheader at 21st-ranked Ramapo College on Saturday. The Roadrunners pulled out a 4-3 win in nine innings in the first game, but the Lions bounced back with a 4-0 shutout in the second.
With the split, TCNJ is 20-14 on the season and 9-5 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
TCNJ plays its final home doubleheader on Tuesday hosting Rowan University at 3 p.m.

After both teams scored runs in the eighth inning, the hosts held the Lions off of the board in the ninth and picked up the win scoring the deciding run in the bottom half of the inning.
Junior pitcher Ashley Minervini (Cliffside Park, NJ/Cliffside Park) suffered the tough defeat on the mound not allowing an earned run in 5.1 innings of relief.
Junior Ellen Seavers (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) finished with a pair hits for the Lions.

Sophomore Alex Sietsma (Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) picked up her second shutout on the mound in as many days tossing a four-hitter with six strikeouts.
Sietsma also helped her own cause at the plate hitting her first home run of the season, while freshman Katelyn Congilose (Toms River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) also hit a homer.
Junior Danielle Hagel (Egg Harbor City, NJ/Oakcrest) added to the win with two hits.
