Box Score
Pomona, NJ...The College of New Jersey men's soccer team played to a scoreless tie for the second time in four games in 2009. The Lions (2-0-2) outshot Albright College 19-6, but were unable to slip one between the posts in their opening game of the Richard Stockton College Classic.
The TCNJ defense kept Albright (1-1-2) off the scoreboard for 110 minutes as TCNJ goalkeeper Eric Goldwaser (Wyckoff, NJ/Indian Hills) needed only two saves to record the shuout. Senior Kevin Luber (Delran, NJ/Delran) got off four shots, while sophomore Chris Pisano (Metuchen, NJ/Metuchen) and freshman Taylor Gregory (Sea Girt, NJ/Wall) took aim three times.
There is no question the Lions offense has punch. In their previous two contests against UNC-Wesleyan and Greensboro College, TCNJ registered three goals in each game. Difficult weather conditions made it tough to establish continuity in their offensive third.
TCNJ is back in action at 1 p.m. when they match up against Arcadia University. The Lions return home on Wednesday, September 16 when they take on Stevens Institute of Technology.
