Ewing, NJ... Junior
Connor Henderson (Monmouth Jct, NJ/South Brunswick) tossed a complete game shutout to go along with plenty of offensive support as The College of New Jersey baseball team defeated Haverford College in its home opener 13-0.
Henderson won his third game in as many starts limiting the Ford offense to four hits over nine innings, striking out 10, and walking just one. The right-hander was in total command from start to finish and has set an early and decisive tone to his 2010 season.
Sophomore
Mike Galeotafiore (Brick, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) continued his torrid start going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a run batted in. Galeotafiore is now hitting .524 and extended his hitting streak to 12 games.
Teammate
James Ruzich (Verona, NJ/Montclair Kimberly Academy) also had a big day going 3-fo-4 with a pair of doubles, three RBIs, and three runs scored. Ruzich is off to a 7-for-13 start this season.
The Lions (5-7) wasted no time generating offense as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded up on three walks, Ruzich took advantage by stroking a double to right-center field. TCNJ plated more before the inning was over and came back with six runs in the bottom of the second.
Freshman
Nick Cifelli (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) had a productive afternoon lacing a pair of hits while driving in four runs. Freshman
