Chester, Pa ... After limiting a conference opponent to three runs in a pair of wins on Saturday, The College of New Jersey baseball team experienced the polar opposite as they fell to Widener University 21-6.
The Lions (8-11) took two steps forward in their sweep of Ramapo College on Saturday, but relinquished a step as they surrendered six, first-inning runs to the Pride. TCNJ did cut the lead to 7-5 plating five runs in the fourth, but Widener answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame and continued to generate offense thoughout the nine-inning contest.

Mike Murphy (Staten Island, NY/Staten Island Tech) had something to smile about as he launched his first collegiate home run. Murphy went deep in the fourth inning for his first career round tripper. Junior
Jason Zegarski (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) collected a pair of hits on the day.
TCNJ returns home after five straight road games to take on Rowan University on Thursday, April 8 at 3:30. The Lions dropped a 3-2 decision in 12 innings to the Profs last week. TCNJ will then travel to Kean University on Friday before the Lions return home for a doubleheader with New Jersey City University on Saturday, April 10.
