Ewing, NJ … Showcasing great balance and depth on both ends of the floor, The College of New Jersey men's basketball team notched its second straight win with a 92-75 victory over Drew University.

The Lions (3-2) got points from 15 different players and shot 50% from the floor. Their defense played with intense energy from start to finish as they caused 21 turnovers while chalking up 11 steals. TCNJ also dropped in 21-of-28 free throws, which was critical in a game featuring 61 shots from the charity stripe.

Freshman Kyle Cancillieri (Lincroft, NJ/Middletown South) enjoyed his best collegiate game registering a double-double. He scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in 27 minutes of play. Sophomore Skyelar Ettin (Princeton, NJ/Princeton) led TCNJ with 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Sophomore Matthew Rista (Point Pleasant, NJ/St. Anthony's) added 15 points and six assists in the win.

Junior Terrell Brown (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson) also posted a double-double the Rangers (2-5) and had a game-high 17 points. He collected 12 boards and also dished out six assists. Sophomore John Ford (Holbrook, NY/Sachem North) matched Brown with 17 points and also had seven rebounds.

The Lions built a 31-16 lead through the first 10 minutes of the game. They hit 11 of their first 20 shots, dropping in four-of-six three pointers. Rista had a pair of those and finished the half with 10 points.

A total of 13 players tallied points in the opening half as head coach Kelly Williams called on 16 players in the first 20 minutes of play.

Drew attempted to create problems with a full-court press, but TCNJ managed to withstand the pressure and convert some easy buckets in the paint to maintain their advantage.

Late in the half, Brown heated up to cut into the lead as he finished the opening period with 11 points and six boards. Ford knocked down a long three-pointer at the buzzer to make it a 49-41 game at the half.

TCNJ slowly pulled away in the opening minutes of the second half. The crowd was brought to its feet at the 14:44 mark of the period. Senior Kyle Rawson (Wayne, NJ/Watchung Hills) stole the ball at midcourt and fired a quick pass to Rista. He lofted a pass towards the rim to Cancillieri who threw it down for the alley-oop.

The two hooked up again at the 6:26 mark, and this time Canillieri finished it off with a thunderous two-handed slam to give TCNJ its largest lead of the game (at the time) at 78-62. The Lions were steady from the free-throw line in final minutes to seal their third win of the season.

Sophomore Alex Fox (Washington, NJ/Westwood) had 10 key points in the game, while freshman Emmanuel Matlock (Trenton, NJ/Solebury) engineered the offense with seven points and four assists and registered a career-high four steals on defense.
