Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey baseball team received outstanding production from the bottom of its line-up and another complete game from their starting pitcher as they defeated William Paterson University 10-0 in New Jersey Athletic Conference action.

The Lions (20-8, 7-5 NJAC) won their sixth consecutive game (all conference matches) to continue their late-season surge towards the post-season. The victory was also the 100th in the head coach career for Dean Glus.

Sophomore Robert Graber (Franklin Park, NJ/Ramapo) threw his first career complete game shutout. The right-hander 3-1) limited the Pioneers (17-14-1, 5-7 NJAC) to seven hits over nine innings. He did not walk a batter in the game and struck out six.

The bottom third of TCNJ's line-up was productive accounting for six of the Lions' 10 hits and crossing home plate five times. Senior Anthony Palmiotto (Manchester, NJ/Manchester Twp) led the way going 3-for-4 on the day, scoring twice and driving in a run.

Freshman Joe Dispoto (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) had a pair of hits and two runs batted in, while sophomore Andrew Priece (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) had a base hit, walked twice, and scored two runs.

Coach Glus
The Lions scored the only run they end up needing in the first, but took complete control of the game plating six runs in the second. Back-to-back singles off the bats of sophomore Nick Cifelli (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) and Priece got things rolling before Palmiotto stroked a base hit to left-center to score Cifelli. After Dispoto drew a walk, senior Jason Zegarski (Lawrencevill, NJ/Lawrence) and Jimmy Ruzich (Verona, NJ/Montclair Kimberly Academy) each took free passes to force in runs.

Sophomore Scott Kelly (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-North) then scored on a pass ball, and catcher Mike Galeotafiore (Brick, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) singled to right field to knock in a pair, giving TCNJ a 7-0 lead.

Galeotafiore stayed hot collecting two hits and driving in three runs. He now has nine hits and has driven in eight runs in his last three games. The junior is now hitting .377 this season.

Graber only permitted one baserunner to reach third base when WPU loaded the bases in the seventh with a pair of singles and a hit batsmen. But Graber induced a groundout to first to end the threat and keep the shutout intact.

Sophomore Scott Hansen (Saddle Brook, NJ/Don Bosco Prep) had two hits for the Pioneers, who dropped their sixth straight game.

In just his fourth year as head coach of the program, Glus quickly reached the 100-win milestone. He currently owns a career coaching record of 100-57-1.

TCNJ plays Stevens Institute of Technology tomorrow (Tuesday) at George Ackerman Park at 3:30. Their next conference game is on Thursday when they host Richard Stockton College.
