Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey bounced back with a 5-0 win over Rutgers University Camden on Wednesday to gain a split with the Scarlet Raptors in a New Jersey Athletic Conference doubleheader at Lions' Park. Rutgers-Camden opened the day with a 1-0 win in the opener.
The split put TCNJ at 16-5 overall and 3-1 in the conference, while the Scarlet Raptors moved to 1-3 in the NJAC and 8-10 overall.
The Lions play on Thursday, April 7 hosting Haverford College at Lions' Park in a single game starting at 4:30 p.m. start, while the Scarlet Raptors remain in the conference going to William Paterson for a pair of games on April 9.

Rutgers-Camden 1, TCNJ 0
Rutgers-Camden pitcher Amanda Cassella (Atco, NJ/Hammonton) tossed a shutout and helped her own cause by driving in the game's only run as the Scarlet Raptors edged the Lions in the opener.
The Scarlet Raptors jumped out to the early lead with a run in the first as Cassella singled home Erika Drayton (Blackwood, NJ/Triton Regional), who had reached via an error.
Lion freshman Kelly Hardman (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) suffered the tough loss as she allowed only the one unearned run and scattered three hits.
TCNJ's Crystal Lee (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls) led all players with a pair of hits.
Game 2
TCNJ 5, Rutgers-Camden 0
TCNJ pitcher Alex Carisone (Branchburg, NJ/Rutgers Prep) fired her second straight one-hitter as the Lions pulled out the split with a win in the nightcap. She yielded a single in the second inning and that was it, while finishing with six strikeouts.
At the plate, sophomore Kelly Hommen (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) got TCNJ off to a big start in the second game as she blasted a solo home run dead center field. It was her first homer of the season. The Lions added another run later in the inning as sophomore Liz Huttner (Princeton Junction, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) doubled and scored on a passed ball putting the hosts in front 2-0.
The Lions tacked on another run on the fifth as Michelle Casale (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) got aboard with a walk and moved to second by a sacrifice by Lee. She came home on a double to the gap in right by Colleen Cawley (Riverton, NJ/Holy Cross).
In the sixth, Huttner belted her second double of the game and then crossed home plate a couple batters later as Katelyn Congilose (Toms River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) dropped in a base hit extending the lead to 4-0.
The Lions closed out the scoring in the seventh as Hommen drove in Lee with a double making the final margin 5-0.
Hommen finished with a home run and double for TCNJ, while Huttner doubled twice.
Cassella had the lone hit for Rutgers-Camden.
