Camden, NJ... The College of New Jersey women's soccer picked up another shutout win on Wednesday as the Lions netted a balanced 4-0 at Rutgers University-Camden.
The win was the sixth straight for the 16th-ranked Lions with each of those coming by a shutout. TCNJ also remained undefeated in New Jersey Athletic Conference play at 4-0, while they are 6-1 overall. The loss kept the Scarlet Raptors looking for their first win as they are 0-7-1 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
It didn't take long for the Lions to get going as senior
Nikki Migliori (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) scored off of a direct kick from 25-yards out. That goal came 11:22 into the game.
That score held through the remainder of the first half and then put the game away scoring three times in the final frame. Senior
Brittany McGinley (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) made it 2-0 as she picked up her fourth of the season 4:32 into the period.
TCNJ tacked on a pair of goals later in the half as freshman
Gina Caprara (New Providence, NJ/New Providence) and junior
Jessica Davila (Middletown, NJ/Middletown) each scored making the final 4-0.
Freshman keeper
Cristina Gacos (Sea Girt, NJ/Wall) recorded a pair of saves for her fifth solo shutout of the season.
TCNJ returns home on Saturday, October 1 to host Rutgers University – Newark at 1 p.m. at TCNJ's Soccer Complex.
