York, PA… The College of New Jersey wrestling team suffered a pair of setbacks on Saturday as the Lions fell to a pair of ranked teams. The day started with a narrow 24-22 loss to 21^st-ranked Elizabethtown College and ended with a 30-13 defeat at the hands of 15^th-ranked York (PA) College.
 
The 30^th-ranked Lions are now 11-8 on the season.
 
Against Elizabethtown, freshman PJ Schmidt (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) posted a 2-1 win at 133 pounds, while senior Brian Bollette (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny) collected a 13-3 major decision at 141. Junior John Darling (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) won by decision at 157, while senior Mike Denver (Bayville, NJ/Central Regional) continued to roll at 184 pounds with a pin. Freshman Michael Larcamp (Falls Church, VA/George Mason) won by forfeit at heavyweight.
 
Darling, Denver, and Larcamp also added wins against the Spartans, with Larcamp winning his bout at heavyweight with his first collegiate pin.
 
That trio each finished the day 2-0.
 
TCNJ returns to the mat against yet another ranked team, their fifth straight, on Friday when the Lions head to 22^nd-ranked Centenary College to take on the Cyclones.
