Box Score
Wayne, NJ… There was no let down for The College of New Jersey women's as the Lions ripped off a season-high eight goals in an 8-1 road win at William Paterson University on Wednesday.

The win put the 10th-ranked Lions, which were coming off of a dramatic double-overtime win over then second-ranked Johns Hopkins University last week, at 12-1 on the season and 5-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, while the Pioneers dropped to 3-9-2 and 1-5 in the conference.

TCNJ was lethal and efficient early as junior Korrie Harkins (Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) scored 36 seconds into the game heading in a cross from Sarah Marion (Hightstown, NJ/The Peddie School). Marion then made it 2-0 with 18:48 expired, waiting at the left post to knock in a shot by Katie Lindacher (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.).

After the Pioneers scored, the Lions needed only 3:42 to get the goal back with Leigh Applestein (Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley) scoring from Christine Levering (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville). TCNJ added one more goal before the end of the half when Lindacher scored from Levering as the Lions scored on their first four shots on goal in the game.

The offense continued to click in the second half as TCNJ exploded for three goals in a span of 2:11. Harkins got the first of those goals, with Marion striking for the final two, both assisted by Harkins.

Freshman Lauren Malajian (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley) capped the scoring with just over 20 minutes left with an assist coming from Gina Caprara (New Providence, NJ/New Providence).

Between the pipes for the Lions, Kendra Griffith (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West), Cristina Gacos (Sea Girt, NJ/Wall), and Jessica Weeder (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) each finished with one save.

TCNJ is right back on the field for another key conference match-up on Saturday, October 19 heading to Kean University for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
