Union, NJ … The College of New Jersey men's basketball team suffered a 91-62 setback to the Kean University in Harwood Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions fell to 7-11 on the season and 5-6 in the NJAC while the Cougars improved to 10-6 overall and 6-6-4 in league play.

Jayson Johnson (Bordentown, NJ/Life Center Academy) led TCNJ with 17 points and dished out a game-high seven assists. Sophomore
Bobby Brackett (Lawrence, NJ/Lawrence) finished with 13 points and rebounds, while junior
Skyelar Ettin (Princeton, NJ/Princeton) and freshman
Eric Klacik (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) added 10 points each in the contest.
Ali Mix had a big day on the hardwood, scoring a game-high 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Michael Burton tallied 16 points, while Xavier Fuller added 12 points and nine boards. Tommy Soulias collected a game-high 10 rebounds as Kean dominated under the glass, forging a 46-31 advantage in rebounds. The Cougars amassed 17 second chance points in the win.
TCNJ held its own through most of the opening half and held a 25-21 lead with six minutes to play in the period. Klacik hit three-of-five field goal attempts from long distance and led the Lions with 10 points. But a 17-4 run by the Cougars gave them a 38-29 lead at the break.
Kean dominated the second half, shooting 54 percent from the field and hitting 9-of-10 free throws from the line. A lay-up by Johnson at the 13:15 cut the deficit to single digits for TCNJ at 54-46, but that would be closest they got for the remainder of the game.
TCNJ returns home to play Richard Stockton College on Wednesday night in Packer Hall. The NJAC match-up is slated to start at 8 p.m.
