Ewing, NJ ….. William Paterson University scored a pair of touchdowns in the second half to spoil The College of New Jersey's homecoming by collecting a 21-0 victory over the Lions on Saturday.
Â
The win was the first for the Pioneers as they went to 1-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference and 3-4 overall, while TCNJ dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Â
The defenses took center stage in the first 30 minutes of the game, as teams combined for 151 total yards and 11 punts.
Â
The Pioneers accounted for the only points in the first half when

Â
In the second half, William Paterson struck for two more touchdowns with both coming in the fourth quarter. The first came through the air when quarterback
Austin Fellows (Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley) tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass over the middle to DiMarsico.
Â
TCNJ's defense came up with a big play to prevent the Pioneers adding another score when senior defensive back
Chris Westenhiser (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) intercepted a Fellows pass at the Lion one-yard line.
Â
Two plays later, however, William Paterson responded a key defensive play of its own when sophomore
Jason Montalvo (Hoboken, NJ/Hoboken) returned an interception 17 yards for a score. Sinegra kicked extra points after both scores to account for the rest of the scoring.
