Montclair, NJ … The College of New Jersey men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaker on Saturday night as they dropped a 2-1 overtime loss to Montclair State University on Saturday night.

Kyle Goodwin scored his 10
th goal of the season just 1:26 into the first overtime period. The win pushed Montclair's record to 9-3 and 4-0 in conference play. The loss dropped the Lions to 4-7-2 overall and 0-4 in the NJAC.

TCNJ held a 1-0 lead into the 80
th minute, but MSU tallied the equalizer when
Lucas Terci redirected a cross from
Brian Cullen into the back of the net for his seventh goal of the season.

The Lions took a 1-0 lead with just over three minutes remaining in the opening period. Freshman
Thomas Hogue (Ridgefield Park, NJ/Bergen Catholic) took a feed from senior
Kevin McCartney (Old Bridge, NJ/St. Joseph's) and ripped a shot from top-right side of the box that tucked just inside the near post. It was the first collegiate goal for Hogue.

The game remained tied through regulation. The Red Hawks held a 16-6 advantage in shots during and sophomore
Jake Nesteruk (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) made seven stops in goal.

TCNJ returns home next Wednesday night when they take on 21
st-ranked Muhlenberg College at 7:30 p.m. in Lions Stadium.
