New York, NY …The College of New Jersey men's basketball team surged to a 19-3 run in the second half to upend the City College of New York 76-71 on Saturday afternoon in New York, NY.

Junior
Bobby Brackett (Lawrence, NJ/Lawrence) put forth a tremendous effort, netting a game-high 25 points and 16 rebounds. Brackett was at the eye of the storm during the run, scoring 13 of the 19 points over nine minutes to spark the Lions (3-3) to their third victory of the season. Senior
Jayson Johnson (Bordentown, NJ/Life Center Academy) finished with a season-high 24 points, including the final 10 points of the game for TCNJ as they pulled away from the host Beavers.

The Lions played efficient basketball, shooting 55 percent from the field, connecting on 22-of-28 free throws and outrebounding the CCNY 39-30.

The Beavers dropped to a 3-3 with the loss. They led by sophomore guard
Khalil Hamer, who matched Brackett with 25 points. Senior forward
Anthony Lewis chipped in with 14 points and 11 boards.

Trailing the majority of the game, TCNJ was down 46-43 with 17 minutes to play. They quickly turned the tables and bolted to a 19-3 run over the next nine minutes.

Bracket dropped in a pair of buckets to put TCNJ up 47-46. CCNY reclaimed the lead when
Saleh Nasser drained a three-pointer, but the Lions would rattle off the next 15 points. Ettin tied it with a layup and Johnson knocked down a pair of free throws. Brackett found the bottom of the net after a Beaver turnover and then converted a conventional three-point play on the ensuing possession.

Sophomore
Alex Cirlincione (Oakhurst, NJ/Ocean) made good on two free throws and then dished out an assist on Brackett's next bucket. The junior forward then put back his own miss and the Lions held a 62-49 advantage with eight minutes to play.

CCNY attempted to claw its way back in the game, but Johnson took over offensively and put the game away for Head Coach
Kelly Williams.

Sophomore
Nick Alaimo (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) added eight points and drilled a pair of three-point baskets. Freshman
Elias Bermudez (Westwood, NJ/Westwood) contributed four points, four rebounds and a pair of blocks and rookie
Steven Kelly (Newton, NJ/Newton) tallied six points and collected three boards. Cirlincione was 5-of-6 from the charity stripe.
TCNJ returns home on Wednesday, December 3 when they take on Richard Stockton College at 6 p.m. in Packer Hall.
