Montclair, NJ... The College of New Jersey men's swimming and diving team won its 29
th straight New Jersey Athletic Conference meet on Friday as the Lions opened the new season with a 193-97 win at Montclair State University.

Senior
James Shangle (Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park) had a huge meet with two individual wins and two more in relay events, to go along with a pair of pool records. He won the 200 breaststroke in pool-record time as he topped the field with a time of 2:12.54. He also won the 50 free in 21.91 seconds.

Shangle led off the 400-free relay as that team added another pool record with a winning time of 3:14.94. Â He was followed into the pool by
Joseph Dunn (Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood),
Alex Skoog (Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) and
Andrew Nesbitt (Somerset, NJ/St. Joseph's).

That quartet also won the 200 medley relay as they combined for a time of 1:36.60.

In addition to the two wins in the relay, Dunn tacked on two more win in individual events taking top honors in the 100 backstroke (54.29 seconds) and the 100 butterfly (53.70). Nesbitt matched that feat as well, adding his individual wins in the 100 freestyle (47.81) and the 100 breaststroke (59.90).

Other double winners for the Lions were
Ryan Gajdzisz (Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) in the 500 free and the 200 individual medley, while
David Adlai-Gail (Princeton Junction, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) won both of the diving events.
